Belinda Millener is a native of Louisiana and a resident of Texas. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and spends a lot of time volunteering for special projects. She uses her education and many years of work experiences to enhance each DAMSELS Inc workshops. Her goal is to combat the negative experiences that teens encounter. Be it peer pressure, relationships, or coping with the effects of having been involved in the justice system, her goal is to encourage personal development, build self-esteem, celebrate personal value, and to help teen girls to discover their true selves and be confident and comfortable with who they are.
“Making a difference in the lives of teen girls and encouraging them to value themselves, plan for more and to expect more: That is what DAMSELS Inc. is all about! Developing And Maintaining Strength, Excellence, & Leadership in Society.”
DAMSELS is an all-inclusive organization dedicated to helping teen girls in transition from teen to young adult to society. It is unique in that it is coordinated by women who themselves have had experiences in life, both negative and positive, who have overcome adversity and are thriving.
So many teen girls have feelings of isolation and helplessness when faced with life changing issues. Life becomes a race for which she is poorly equipped to manage.
Overcoming the challenges of being a part of the social scene after unfortunate circumstances is not an easy task. Figuring out ways to fit in, be accepted, and yet still being able to know and be clear about who you are, what you stand for has been the inspiration behind my passion to help teens.
