DAMSELS, Inc.
Developing And Maintaining Strength Excellence and Leadership in Society
DAMSELS, Inc is a 501c3 non-profit organization striving to promote life-changing success for young girls between the ages of 13 and 19, by providing the essential tools needed for daily living, growth, and social development.
DAMSELS, Inc. was established to prepare young ladies to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood through a variety of experiences and activities that increase social, moral, emotional, physical, and cognitive competencies. These programs can be effective in preventing the full range of high-risk behaviors, such as delinquency, violence, truancy, and abuse which can compromise the ability of our young girls to become self-sufficient adults. The program integrates education, health, career readiness, and social services through workshops, community-based collaborations; family and peer support; mentoring and community services opportunities.
Our objectives are:
- To build positive self-esteem and self-confidence
- To promote and strengthen family values
- To prevent teen pregnancy
- To conduct resiliency training
- To provide educational services and assist with career planning
- To promote health and well being
- To increase high school graduation and college acceptance rate
DAMSELS Inc. promotes achievement. Our speakers are experienced professionals who address young girls and women in schools, youth centers, other organizations and churches.
DAMSELS Inc. is committed to being the community’s signature program for maximizing girls’ self-development. The program provides girls with a safe space, skill development and self-esteem building that leads to better life choices and an opportunity to realize their full potential. We invite young women to design, lead, and implement social change projects that tackle issues girls face in their own neighborhoods. DAMSELS Inc. provides the tools, resources, partnerships and support girls need to gain the voice, ability, and problem-solving capacity to realize their full potential.
